How to compare AI chat platforms

These are the dimensions that decide which AI chat platform fits your business, with our own answer to each one.

Judge the answers, not the demo

The differences that matter show up after the first conversation: where the answers come from, what happens when the assistant is out of its depth, and who holds your data.

Use the dimensions below as a checklist. Put the same question to every platform on your shortlist, and ask to see it demonstrated rather than described. Our answer is under each one.

The dimensions that decide the purchase

Where the answers come from

Ask whether the assistant draws on the open internet or only on your material. Blengi is trained only on your content.

What happens when it does not know

Ask a question the assistant cannot answer, then watch. Blengi says it does not know, and the question surfaces as a content gap for someone on your side to fix.

What it is trained on, and how it stays current

Blengi takes your website and sitemap, PDFs, Word files, Google Docs, Notion pages, pasted text and SQL databases. Sources are re-crawled automatically, so the answers follow your content, and a source can be re-indexed on demand.

What it does not have access to

Ask what it does with a question about a specific order or live availability. Blengi repeats what the page says. Anything resting on live data goes to a person, unless you connect a SQL database.

Who hosts the data, and under which law

Ask where the data sits, and whether your content trains a model other customers use. Blengi is hosted in the EU and aligned with the GDPR. Workspaces are isolated, and your content never trains models for other customers.

How handover to a person works

Ask what happens when a visitor wants a human. Blengi captures contact details, asks qualifying questions, and hands over the full conversation. A call can be booked through Calendly, and a shared inbox lets someone take over live.

How pricing scales

Ask what makes the bill grow next year: seats, agents or conversations. Blengi is fixed monthly pricing with no per-seat fees.

Whether it can be white-labelled

Ask whether an agency can run the product under its own brand. Blengi offers white-label workspaces, a separate knowledge base per client, and resellable fixed monthly pricing.

A short test for any shortlist

  • Install it on a real page: one script tag, a plugin for WordPress and WooCommerce, or Google Tag Manager.
  • Ask a question your own website answers badly, and see whether the assistant admits the gap.
  • Ask in a second language. Blengi replies in the visitor's language automatically.
  • Check where the widget can sit: a floating bubble, a side panel, or an inline block, and which pages and paths it appears on.

Fair objections

Can a vendor write an honest comparison?No vendor page is neutral. We can only answer each dimension plainly and in public, so you can put the same questions to every platform on your list, including this one.
What if the assistant words something wrong?It answers from your material and says when it does not know, so a poor answer usually points at a page that needs work. Pin a curated answer for wording that must be exact. Otherwise correct the source page, then re-index it.
